#4 Life Purpose: Make better choices for me!
If you're anything like me and most of the people I know, you are struggling with all sorts of overwhelm. It may be information overload, not knowing where to look for all the visual stimulation, excessive noise or simply too much choice.
Somehow even in your quiet, peaceful moments you're probably aware of some kind of pressure, something you need to do, someone you need to call or some niggling worry lurking in the back of your mind.
And so... you seek clarity.
Wouldn't it be great to have a simple clear framework you could use to navigate through the overwhelm, your own clear road in the midst of the chaos that life can be?
That's what your Life Purpose is. It's your road map, your framework, your clarity. Knowing your Life Purpose is like having your own compass, a SatNav (GPS) for your life. Of course, knowing it will do a lot, but understanding it and using it, that's where the real gold is.
Your life today is the overall result of all the decisions you've taken, and avoided taking, to date.
Your Life Purpose is your guide to making decisions that support you, that help you choose what will be the best for you.
Here's an example of how you might choose using your Life Purpose as your guide:
Jenny and Kate need to move - they are identical in every way, including their options, except for their Life Purpose. First, there's a gorgeous, but a bit run down, quaint cottage just outside a village she really likes. Then there's a tiny, posh flat on the outskirts of the city. The flat is a bit more than her budget. The cottage appeals to her creative flair. She wants to make the right choice for her, the one that'll allow her to be happy and blossom in her business, which is mostly an online business she runs from home, so her home environment is important.
Jenny's Life Purpose includes Love & Connection a corner stone of her Natural Brand, which is The Empathic Networker. (There's more to her Life Purpose than this so this is an excerpt to make it easy to showcase). On the surface Jenny cares about living in a nice place but the most important aspect of anywhere she lives is how easy it will be for her to get out and about to meet people and connect with them. The cottage, as gorgeous and reasonably priced as it is, will result in her getting down in the dumps because it's just too isolated for her.
Kate's Life Purpose requires High Standards, a key aspect of her Natural Brand, which is The Empowerment Expert. The cottage will never do for Kate because it's run down. She needs things to work well, to be the best she can afford. However, if she can get the landlord to fix it up for her, it may well be her ideal location as she loves being alone in the peace and quiet, the beautiful surroundings. In fact she'll probably thrive in the cottage once it's been smartened up.
Your Life Purpose is the most powerful decision-making tool you will ever have.
It will help you to make the right choices for you, comfortably adjust your decisions when something unexpected comes up and know when you absolutely have to say "No!" to what seems to be the most amazing opportunity.
